Mahadev better known as Madhavrao, entered the film industry on 30th November 1924 with Tribhuvan Nath Mutto, Bhagvati Prasad Mishra and M/s Cinema & Associated Industries as equal partner of Indian Pictures Corporation. In April 1925 he left Indian Pictures Corporation and decided to learn filmmaking. Accompanied by his two younger brothers Vasant and Raghunath he went to England, France and Italy.

After launching Jagatap Pictures, he did cinematography of the first home production “Jai Bhavani ”. The younger brother Vasant was also doing well with the camera so later he looked after the production and administration of the company. Soon he realized that the film environment was not conducive so he decided to close the company and quit the film industry in 1929. He later took to another profession.
